What ever happened to just forgiving people? whether they deserve it or not, i still think its something thats important to do. The cycle of conflict won't end through further hatred, only when somebody makes it end. In my oppinion one who does not forgive the mistake of another is just as guilty as the one who made the mistake. Are we to proud to ever admit we've been wrong or to let go of anothers past transgressions? To me life is to short to spend fighting over these things. Better to just be friends. Everybody has shortcoming and every body has things they wish they had done differently. But since its imposible to change the past why not focus on making a better present? In the book I'm reading (YES! ive taken up reading BOOKS!) it talks about the importance of viewing life through the eyes of compassion because everything is connected to everything else. We seperate our lives into different compartsments of diferent selves, individuals an objects and creating all these divisions when we should really be viewing them as one. Basically everything is interdepandant. Its kind of re-enforced a past beliefe ive had on the idea that we're all brothers and sisters (children of God) after all so why not act like it? What is also good about the book I' reading as that it apply's this principal to everything whether you believein God or not but I can't quite describe it concicley here so I suggest reading it (The Miracle of Mindfullness, a Manual on Meditation) and I also suggest making it a point in your life right now to take the initiative to forgive somebody close to you who has hurt you. Whether its verbally to their face, or whether you forigve them silently in your heart. Rebuild a bridge :-D!
